I'm guessing its been a long day....

FWIW, I got more velocity & accuracy using the same load with the EDLX over the ELDM in a T3x 7RM

162 amax worked really well in that velocity range. So you wouldn't go wrong with eld-m.

Thanks for that guys and yea I did mean ELD -M I have noticed dear run off with the X at the longer range so thought the M might be better.

Have put 500 through 300 wm and 400 through 7mm and I reckon the old a max killed better than eldx. So eldm may be more like the a max. Eldx are very soft. I personally haven't tried the eldm, just changed back to berger. To be fair the eldx are pretty good on light boned fallow etc not as good on bigger animals, reds etc. Same old yarn though, shot placement is key

Wow.... I've had outstanding results with ELDx 7mm 162 and 150 from 10 yards to 479 yards

Blow a big exit hole unlike the 162Amax that mostly disintegrated on larger stags

I only lost two animals which were eventually found, using eldx. Out of hundreds whichave have been taken. They are good bullets.... this is just what I have found whilst using them

I think for memory (and Nathan's books) the x is a bit harder than the m (which is pretty much a amax)

It was better to have x up close on magnums to avoid early break up - but m is more frangable down range and is better once speed drops away from magnum speeds - non magnums m was good (in decent calibres)

Thanks guys I might try the M for longer shots as the X work well up close so far and out to 200 Yards.

I have only started hunting deer, have shot 3 now all using 162 grain ELDX. The 1st deer was 391 meters, put a fist size hole through it's arse. The 2nd deer was an 80 meter shot through the chest and broke it's back (dropped dead instantly) and the 3rd deer was 475 meters through it's back and out it's front shoulder and dropped dead instantly. All had plenty of damage so I'm pretty happy with them. I still need to brush up on my ballet placement but not the ammo's fault.

Recently loaded up a bunch of eldx to try and finally get my 7mm shooting under moa. At 100yds. Eldx and the high end of the rl22 load data got me dialed and left the muzzle at 2886fps. Woke up the next morning and dropped an Auddad at 270 yds. Went in and out without a huge exit wound. Sheep ran about 30 yds. I assume if I would have aimed straight for the shoulder, it would've dropped it right there.
