Start with 50 grains of 2f, and if you want go up in 5 grain steps. There will be a point where the boom gets quite sharp and little bits of burning powder come out the front it looks great but does nothing for accuracy. If you havnt done so already make yourself a starter or tompion. This is mine, its a little fancy but the basic idea is a mallet to tap the bullet or ball into the rifling, then a short starter to get it going before using the ram rod.I use beeswax as a lube but for a ml dripping seems better. Putting either a card over powder wad or a little dry porridge on top of the powder helps protect the bullet base. Youll be addicted after this, cos "once you've gone black you'll never go back"

As MH good thing is you can't overload it, it will just send the und burnt powder out the barrel. Old timers used to fire over snow and could tune their rifles as to the correct load by the amount of unburnt powder left on the snow!
