    Cool 9mm hunting loads

Curious if members have any recommendations on good projectiles for hunting critters with 9x19. Hollow points seem to be pretty thin on the ground in NZ, have seen Sierra JHP's, Hornady XTP and Lapua mega shock. I would prefer to use proper defensive projectiles for hunting rather than the cheap target ones.

Zero make some JHP's - was using 124s in my open pistol for a while. I think Serious Shooters had some 115s in stock that you could push a bit quicker and they'd be pretty explosive

I saw them loading some jhp a few weeks back, 124gr from memory. Lee or Richard would be the ones to ask

Hornady XTP is a fantastic projectile so if I had the option thats what I would use.

NZ Guns also have Zero projectiles.
Best probably to go with the 115g to get some more speed.
Both weights shoot well through my AR15.

Have found the XTP to work well, though it's the only high end 9mm pill I have tried.

The zero hollow points work well on possums/Bunny's but the difference with the XTP on goats was eye opening

Where's the best place to get the XTP's in NZ? I'll be giving them a whirl too

That was my thinking. Cheap stuff for possums. Premium stuff for goats. I guess FMJ's would be sweet for small game anyway.

Reloaders, just search XTP on their site. If it's in stock it shows up.
