    Poorly constructed conspiracy theory.
As it is an old smelter and out of date, very likely it is polluting the absolute bajesus out of the local environment. If the EPA (agency is its own entity, seperate from the governing body) is reviewing its standards around smelting, then it is very likely they are just updating an old law to stop a shitty old lead plant poisening half of the state.

Yanks can turn anything into a second amendment arguement. Most dont even know what the second ammendment rights actually entail.

The biggest problem causing the ammo and components shortage is the Americans hoarding, Some of the forums I visit there are people bragging about how much ammo and components they have stashed away, the factories are churning out products at an enormous rate
and can't keep up, I read about one group of ten that bought 1 million primers, if there are other groups like that buying powder and projectiles, brass, loaded ammo, no wonder there is a shortage, a lot of the hoarders are on selling at a profit especially .22 rf ammo bricks of 500 sell for more than we pay for the same stuff here, I can't see the Republicans winning the next election so it will continue under another President, we will have to get along the best we can.
