    Frontier projectiles

Anyone shooting the 300 gr 44 mag plated projectiles? Am thinking to reload for my old Rossi LA. Just looking for a cheapish load to shoot and pop the odd goat.

    Thanks

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

The 240ish grain are a very hard projectile pulled them from timber and manuka blocks when i was pistol shooting with little deformation

    Thanks @260rem ,

do you load them like jacketed or have to slug the bore and get the right size like cast?
Is it a thin copper coat?

    Thanks

The Berry copper washed bullets are the same sort of thing. Just load them as you would jacketed bullets. The berry`s are not supposed to be shot over 1200fps.

I use the 245 Frontiers for possums and hares in a sub sonic fully suppressed short barrel 44.
They absolutely do not expand under any circumstances and at any speed.
I don't expect them or the 300s to be suitable for goats.

The Hornady 240 XTPs on the other hand are very effective at either sub or super sonic speeds and despite being more expensive are the better option.
300 XTPs don't stabilize at sub sonic speeds and do not expand as well as the 240s at sub or super sonic speeds !!!

Have some fun with the cheap Frontier ( but remember they shoot through everything they hit and you can hear them zipping off ) and use the XTPs for the goats.
