My 16" 308 likes SST's in all formats.

I have only used Lapua/fed match/ADI2208, never had a reason to change.

I use the 150 NBT data in the ADI manual for the 150's use 165's a lot too. My rifle shoots really, really well with the lower loads and 45.5g 2208 gives me 2640 average but I have loaded over book max with no pressure signs whatsoever apart form sharper recoil (not chronographed).

I'm using ADI 2208 I know a lot run the 2206/H in short barrels I would like to hear more about why?

I know we are all doing our own thing and every rifle is different (normal rhetoric about load development, safety etc) manual shows better velocity in both pistols and rifles with 2208 over 2206?

Is there real world testing/data locally to suggest one is better than the other?

    Cheers

With the 150 SST, I've tried both powders in my 20" barrel .308 and get better accuracy and velocity from 2206H. It's a faster burning powder that works well in shorter barrels. That's in my particular rifle and not necessarily your rifle. There's not a great deal of difference between them velocity wise with the 150gr bullets anyway so just use what gives you the best accuracy or what you have on hand.

@223nut yep got a very large pit in the bolt face of my 260 from a primer failure and they fit super lose in the primer pockets also I just stay away ive still got 500 but I'm slowly working through with black powder rounds as black powder has much lower pressures but at maybe 100 a year that will take awhile

small rifle Winchesters were fine as I understand but I wont be buying any more use 210match fed's my self
