Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

I used to use 168g Berger classic hunters in my Rem Mag with similar or slightly better results to what you are getting with the VLD's

Dont get hung up too much on BC if thats what you are hoping. Both kill fine and fly fine

Try 3 powders that work well with those projectiles in other peoples rifles.
If it doesn't shoot any of those loads, forget about using the projectile in your rifle.

It happens. My .260 barrel shoots every bullet I have tried except my favorite 130 Swifts.
Pissed me off at the time, but ya get over it.
Especially when it shoots cheap brick like BC interlocks, into little tiny groups at 500 yards, pretty consistently.

Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

You could also try AR 2213 SC with the 162gr.I use 65 grs under the 162gr A-Max and works OK for me. That load is more than the loading book Max so it would pay to work up from lower. My rifle is a Rem 700.
