    Powder getting thin in Auckland

    Has anyone else been finding that their particular powder is a bit hard to find. I was after H4831sc or 2213sc but there was none to be found at SS, RL or GC. I ended up finding some at Wills Outfitters in Kumeu

    The general story i'm hearing is that the transport companies are starting to balk at shipping powder across the ditch. Guess we'll have to start loading crushed match heads / sparklers like y'all did pre Y2K

    Steve Collings @ Steve's Wholesale is one of the main importers of ADI. Read what he says on his website here ADI Powder Delay Update The website message is from earlier this year and that shipment may well have arrived and been consumed already but overall the message gives an update on the issues with us getting powder.
    So I don't think it entirely about getting it carried this time but just plain availability.
    Re shipping issue, there was a story a few years ago about a Lapua (IIRC) shipment destined for NZ that for some reason (the initial shipping co didn't wish to carry it any further) got unloaded in Oz. Rumours at the time was that the powder did another trip arund the world b4 finally getting to NZ. As I said this story could be just urban myth, not sure.

    Have you looked at Robbie's website lately? Around 1/2 of the different ADI powders listed, including most of the popular ones are shown as"sold out".

    Black powder is like unobtainium at present, plenty of 777 though if thats your poison.

    A good supply of Black Powder can easily be manufactured in an afternoon by any Good Keen Man

    Yep powder is getting thin on the ground again...unless you know the right suppliers
