    Savage LWH 308

Had a bit of spare time today so grabbed the ammo I loaded a couple of weeks and put a few holes in the hill.
This was the first ever 9 rounds out of a new rifle using Hornady brass, W748 and Sierra 150gr SBT.
Bullets seated 7.62 mm in case.
My Lyman 48th stated max load at 50 grs compressed so I thought starting at 45 should be ok. Than my mate said his Sierra manual states 47 grains max so I stayed below 47 until its my turn on the forum chrony.

Shot at 100 yards no wind, let the barrel cool down between shots

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

First load looks good. Handful of clicks left and up and you're on the money. Love the homemade job on the vice.

Yep, first ever 3 out of new rifle , will load up some more and break in the barrel properly. Call me a wuss but even after 9 rounds I felt my shoulder so will space out the brake in period evenly. Might get a Terminator T1 in the future to tame the kick a bit if the barrel can be threaded.

Consider a DPT suppressor? You will never look back.

The brake will work, but you will need ear protection and getting that on and off in the bush or for quick shots will be right pain.

Yes, I had a DPT , Gunworks and an MAE and they work ok but I was still wear ear protection to avoid adding cicadas to my existing collection in my head.
Was thinking to use the brake target shooting or when goat shooting but as I have bugger all cash I have plenty of time to think it through.

Been out shooting goats with mates and the rifle worked well. Even with a hot barrel was knocking over goats at 300. @Tahr is right it needs a suppressor, the other's were complaining how loud it was. Than might have a play with subsonics too.
