    Serria Pro Hunters

    Hay guys
I use the 140 gamekings in my 708 and they kill very well,
Im looking to chop it back to the stock so maybe 13" and looking to run the 120grn pro hunter Anyone been using them?

Any other lite 7mm projectiles i should look at? Its more a goat gun then anything else these days for the occasional trip Wanganui way.

    Cheers
    Shane

Both those projectiles are top choices when the best performance is desired at reduced velocities .

I'm using 110gr ttsx in my 18" 708. Getting 3000fps with H335. Might be a bit expensive for goats though. I have another load with I think Hornady 120 hollow points. I have used that on wallabies and a couple of goats, but wasn't impressed on the goat performance. Seemed to just pencil through. Will need to shoot a few more.

Speer hotcors are soft and expand at reduced velocities, cheap too. Could be worth a look.

Hornady no longer make the 120 HP only the 120 Vmax they may not pencil through, I'm with mawzer308 Speer bullets are under rated and a good price.

Anything round nose usually works best for low velocity close range stuff.
