    Field Dressing gutting method

    Heyas,

I have seen a (new to me) method of gutting a rabbit in the field.

    Field Dressing

It leaves behind the hind legs and the back straps, which is all I really want.
Anyone tried this method before? If I can work it out, it might be the one for me

So just got back from a night hunt. Bagged some rabbits and tried the gutting method above.

    This is the result:

These are straight out of the pillowcase that I was using to hold them. They are pretty clean, and have very little hair on the bodies.
The method was mostly easy - the twist at the end was kinda tricky. Took me about a minute per rabbit.

Only thing I need to change is to snip off the feet before I put them in the bag.
Also tried it on a gut-shot rabbit. Saved the legs, but normally I would discard the lot of it, so that is a gain.

All-in-all - brilliant! If I am not wanting a whole rabbit to roast, then this is the best way of field dressing rabbits I have come across.
    Loved it!

    Try it!
