Wink Good on you fish and game.

You don't get much for free nowadays, but last weekend te awamutu fish and game ran a free bus from te awamutu to nongataha trout fish hatchery for parents, guardians and children over the age of five. This was a full day trip and the kids were all given a tour of the hatchery, and following this they all caught a trout fly fishing, with the help of the the helpfull and friendly fish and game officers. Most of the f and g people there were giving their time for free. The weather was great, and the trout hungry. I took sakoboy along for the day, and like the rest of the kids he too scored himself a decent trout for a five year old. All the children had to pay five dollars for a day licence just to keep it legal. There we many excited and Happy kids, running about showing off their, for most first ever trout.Name: image.jpg

Size: 786.3 KB. After lunch with time to spare we all headed up to the blue lake to fill in the rest of the day. A few of the kids enjoyed the water while the rest played on the beach, even a couple of the adults went for a quick dip, the water temp was still to low to really stay in for long, even tho it was quite a warm and sunny day. It was an outstanding day and everyone had a enjoyable time. Thanks to dave for driving the bus and getting us back by five thirty. Cheers to te awamutu fish and game.

Love their work - looks like the nursery pool fish are big this year.
Couple of good spots across the road where you can replicate this in the river proper.
    Good fun eh!!!
