Yep, had a few issues with led lensers over the years too. Main gripe with them was burning through the batteries so quickly so when my last one started crapping out changed to a energiser head lamp at 300 lumens. Performing really well thus far, doesn't have the same spot light function of the led lensers. however realised that even with the spotlight function theres not all that much i can practically do with it in any case as walking and work under light is better done with a flood function to which the energiser is more than ample and it has red and dimmed functions. Also WAY cheaper at $20 odd when purchased online. Then if i do need a "spot" light type beam i just use the led lenser p7 torch which has a mount for you scope/bike and a pressure switch activation button for any spotlighting at night if required. Saves way more battery power as the head lamps on alot lower and the torch is just used periodically when scanning openings.
