    The 2 things that give away it was a .270 was first it didnt kill him and second it bearly hit him

    Very lucky with a .270! Could have been a lot worse for a lot less.
    Although mentioned "spotlighting" depending where he's from could have happily been on private land when shot by a member of their own party, and if they weren't then he has learned a heck of a lesson which he can pass on to others and one heck of a story to tell.
    I hope he recovers well.

    Sh*t happens so I won't judge, it's nice to hear a survival story instead of another dreaded tragedy in the headlines!

    Yep I agree Aly, better a wake up call scary as shit story like this than another dead hunter spotlighting.

    From reading the report, it sounds like the victim was possibly bending over dealing to an already shot deer when his mate shot him

    It does beg the question as to wtf the the shooter thought he was looking at, as his mate must have been facing away from him so not even eyes visible.
