You should maybe be asking that on a life style block forum rather than one that's full of armed trampers perhaps ??

    Hi Proneshooter,
It takes a little time and some hard work but it can be done. When I moved cities I had no access to land so here's what I did. I spent hours on google earth looking at farms not too far from me that I thought would have rabbits, possum and maybe even goats and deer (i.e. near forestry, scrub or bush) and printed out the maps where I thought the farmhouses were and jumped in the car one weekend and drove to each farm and introduced myself wearing my Sunday bests. With me I had a bottle of wine and a shooting CV I had written with some references, I was incredibly respectful and stated my business and didn't hang around so the farmers didn't feel uncomfortable at all. My CV had my contact details and most of the farmers called me back to chat and 30% allowed my to shoot once (and more if I behaved professionally). I always took another six pack or vino for every visit. I very rarely took anyone else other than my son and over time I built relationships and sometimes friendships.
ATB ... keep safe in the hills.
