Are you new to hunting as in just starting out?
You could be over thinking it,the whole scent thing, it's as easy as just hunting into the wind to have it in your favour. Your local sports shop will sell you everything you need and half the stuff you don't.
Just get out there and do it, yes you will learn from your mistakes.
Sound and movement will spook animals as well as scent. It's all about learning on the job there's no magic bullet.

I think you right I'm overthinking it and been watching too many whitetail bowhunters on YouTube.

I do my best to hunt into the wind. But I don't find it as easy as people make it sound.
I've been out this morning and I swear the breeze changed direction every 60 seconds.

Scent control and rubbing yourself in piss is a Yank thing for sitting up in a tree stand.
scent control boots,clothes and will never stop u smelling like a human.
As somebody stated one fart and you have fucked the whole process.

As a newbie hunter I thought it a legitimate question to ask what you guys do in terms of this.
Thanks to forum members input I've learned that I'm wasting my time.
But hey baking soda is cheap and does absorb oders. Now I know better I won't bother anymore.

I'm always trying to hunt into the wind but fact is sometimes you will get a gust of wind from behind.

I'll probably ask many more stupid questions but I make no apologies.
I want to learn as much as I can from these forums.
Hopefully one day I can pass on what learn.

Good on ya mate, the internet is pretty full, good to look around but some of it is really not worth looking at. You will get some good answers around here, and ask question no matter how silly it may be. We all have to learn somewhere.

Mine wasn't a piss take at all. As I read it I thought you were a young guy starting out and looks like I was on the money. Don't worry about some of the comments,those guys have forgotten what it's like starting out. Yep the wind can a proper pain in the arse sometimes.

But I love the bush at Okatana in rotorua and looking forward to get out there when it's open next month.
Haven't done any hunting up high. It's all close bush stuff.
