    Shipping Gamemeat Between Islands

Anybody got experience of sending their meat home rather than go through the hassle of trying to get it on the plane home? I'm talking about those who might fly down to the South Island, get a nice haul of meat and then be over weight limit back home on the plane. Is there a cost effective way?

I remember getting off the ferry after one trip and carrying a couple of slightly bloody plastic rubbish bags on the train all the way to paraparam

I got a number of looks .. and a query by the Guard .. who was a bit disappointed when I didnt give him any !!!

I am not a fan of twice freezing anything but I guess so? this time of year you could just send it fresh but chilled and set.

Ask @Angus-a what it was like when it arrived ?

What airline are you going with? Sounds Air has never charged me for extra weight... I even carried on that set of antlers in a rubbish bag, and I smelled like shit.... Haha

Its not the size of the airplane but rather Wellington Airport. On a bad day I would rate it the worst I ever place I have landed.
( I have been lots of outa the way airfields all round the pacific in shitty little planes but having to go to Wellie still scares the pooz out of me).
