    Tahr hunting for beginners...

    G'day all. I'm after a bit of advice on where to go hunting tahr. I'm planning a trip with a mate and my old man but not sure where being a 'northerner'. Old man is still reasonably fit, ex culler, but doesn't have the best vision anymore so doesn't mind being 'camp bitch'. He's just keen to try something new before resigning himself to staring at the lid... For this reason I was looking at flying in so we can set up a camp reasonably high so he's still amongst it. East coast? West? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Mate is based in Blenheim so will drive somewhere from there then fly in. Cheers.

    I just took an old fella for his first tahr hunt for his 60th the tahr came down within 200yards from camp, he snotted 2 and was stoked, I'll flick you a message later I guess

    Welcome......Don't get the wrong idea about this forum.
    What the guys are trying to say is get a few posts under your belt so we get the know you.
    It's like asking for a root on the first date.
    Maybe go to the intros and start with a bit about yourself, there are a good bunch of people on here and a lot of info that guys will share.
