    Down vest

Had a few down vest over the years, Scott base one was good but died after a few years heavy use and had too many bells and whistles. Last one was a Macpac that got stolen out of my truck.... now looking again. Anyone got one lying around? Don't mind a few stains or duct tape patches as long as it's still warm and the zip works. Have stopped taking a heavy raincoat and use the vest with a waterproof shell over top.

Does Kuiu make one? Or cactus? Will do some looking myself before I go back to Macpac...

L or xl usually a xl.... Maybe by the end of the trip a medium lol.

Just remembered why I got Macpac not cactus.... Price $90 vs $300 I know it's probably worth it just can't justify it wheni have two full down jackets for when it's really cold

The macpac outlets are usually pretty good. Think I paid around $100 for my last one with all that hydra fuse whatever water repellant Jazz and came with a lifetime warranty.

Just put a few toothpaste stains on it up near the collar and it'll make people think twice 😉

Kuiu makes one, sounds like you'd thrash it though. They don't seem to be durable type of vest. Maybe a Cactus vest? Those seem bullet proof.

Check these out @223nut - On special too

@hotsoup cheers for that, had seen them but 3 times the price of the Macpac ones.... I like cactus quality but that's a bit too steep for a down vest I won't use all that often.

    Have a look here:

    http://www.woe.co.nz/mens-down-jacket-options.php

Custom made how you want it at a reasonable price.

Someone said it was because you couldn't buy their gear in regular hunting shops. I did point out that they have their own stores....

You can't buy Swazi in hunting shops either, they must be anti hunting, those bastards! They even have the cheek to sell their stuff at Fonterra farmsource stores so they must support those nasty environmental terrorist dairy farmers... boycott!!!

Stoney creek puff jacket looks good, but steep price as well.
