FS: Marlin XS7 243 with Hawke 3-9x40 scope.

This is a good entry rifle for long range varminting and bigger game. Bought it for myself but have decided to go back to playing with lots of rimfires. Marlin XS7 model well regarded in its price range and has pillar bedding, fluted bolt, adjustable trigger and recessed target crown standard. Capable of well under 1" at 100m with right ammos and shooter. Scope is quite clear for an entry level unit - a Hawke mildot 3-9x40. Hawke is well regarded for air-rifles so it will handle 243 recoil easily.

Few little wear marks but I'd describe this as a good condition unit. A very good entry setup for not many dollars.
Will take $550 - this includes reasonable post.

A good cheap first rifle for someone. I still have my XS7 in 7mm-08 (first rifle) and i cannot bring myself to sell it, as i have shot a heap of animals with it, and it still continues to shoot dam well. I had a newbie shooting around 2/3 MOA at 300 with it the other day.

Good deal for someone starting out, or a spare/loaner rifle.

Yes known for their accuracy - hope to put few of gadgetman's reloads through it early next week. Would expect well under 1" with right ammos.

Here are some pics - sorry about poor quality. Rifle has some minor scuff marks but would describe it as very sound unit:

Action, barrel etc excellent. Scope nice and clear for an entry level optic.

I think Munsey is getting good groups from the very same rifle that I sold him recently.

Took this Marlin 243 with Hawke 3-9x to range today. Only fired few rounds. It was poor with one winchester brand but after swapping to one of gadgetman's reloads the groups immediately came in to 0.8" at 100m. Would expect it to shoot 0.5" groups with right recipe or factory load. Shot and cycled perfectly. Adjustable trigger excellent.

With right shooter and ammos this will be a very accurate entry level hunting setup at little cost.

Still $525 which includes cleaning kit and reasonable postage.
