Excellent calibre - don't need it, but like it. Still taking game worldwide, just like the 308, 303, 8 x 57, 6.5 x 55.....mmmmm all ex-military calibres. Maybe the military/commercial people know something the marketeers ignore?
    Ready for incoming -

Settle down Rushy, how would you ever justify having two 30-06's?
    Pengy and Huk like this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Easy.
1/ you need a spare 30-06 just in case something goes wrong with the first one.
2/ you can have 30-06 competitions with your mates now you have 2.
3/ There was a rogue elephant at the Franklin Zoo, a keeper at Hamilton Zoo was fatally mauled by a tiger not too long ago.You need to prepared.
4/ There may be sick/injured stock that need to be put down between 308 and 300 magnum ranges
    5/ 30-06 is a great calibre
6/ easy to justify when it becomes a "need". See above

I'd get it myself but for two reasons. First is the stock is noticably different to my other rifles. Second is I have no room for it at present.

Yep, as it says, what you see is what you get, open to offers, possibly semi auto shotty as a swap, just don't need a 30.06!

Just bought a Ruger American 30 06 great rifle nice to carry ,accurate, and will knock over anything NZ has to offer. I like the stock on yours, mine is a plain one, good luck with the sale.

    @Rushy

Why even try to justify the purchase ........ Just buy it and say nothing.

    Cheers
