I'd previously thought about building a little lightweight rifle in 6.5G, but soon realised I already have the near perfect rifle for my wife or kids eventually.

Mod 7 in 260 Rem, just download it, and as they can tolerate more recoil just crank the loads back up.

Be interesting if the Howa can be retro fitted with an L461 or A1 bottom metal. Howa mags look to be single stack. I agree with others, that mag is not pretty.

The mag is one of the reasons I don't like the Howa, CZ will finally come with flush bottom.

Yeah, the CZ ebony comes with a flush mag and beautiful stock, sadly Kilwell only seem to bring in a handful of CZ models at a time, so we can never really buy some of their best offerings.

I hate floor plate mags they are a prick to load
I don't carry my rifle the quad dose that so it doesn't matter if the mag sticks out the bottom a bit for me

A mate has one in .223. He took the grinder to the mag release tab and shortened it right down to the point where it takes a lot of thumb pressure to open it. Has made it a lot more secure.

6.5 Grendel has crossed my mind many a time. A little HOWA like that would be the bees knees as a spare/fallow rifle for down here in the takis.

I wanted some big CZs, they weren't interested, I wasn't in a hurry, even asked them twice through a retailer no less, they weren't even remotely interested....so I got the permits & I'm in the process of importing them from the States, they didn't want my $$$ so I organised it myself.......plonkers.... probably will cost me a little more but at least I WILL get them

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

    "Plonkers" - I agree 100%!

Can't get any Full Stocks in any Cal they say via 2 retailers and directly, so I order one out of the States in 9.3 and now they have 223's and 308's in stock and I'm still waiting on a call to say they have them in!

A couple of steps closer to my Grendel. Reamer organised (264 LBC .295 neck) and dies. PPC mag box & follower for the Sako are already sitting at a mates place in North Carolina, so once this other stuff is there it'll be on its way to NZ
