Win Model 70 barrel is about f*cked and the gunsmith said they make great SAUM / WSM with the long mag for a SA about 2.90" from memory.

What barrel length for a 7 SAUM? want to run 162's.

Some time ago I ran though this on Quickload with Nor-west, I think he used a Remmy action - its an interesting cartridge with usable H2O capacity of just under 65gns (284 has about 55 and 7x64 60, 7mm Rem Mag 72.4). At 22" you should get a over 2900 fs with the 162's with N560 or AR2213SC and if you went to 24" you might just get 3000 fps (all at 2.9" COL)

I run 162 Amax at 3k in my 22" with great accuracy

Have had about five of them my favourite cal.. Have had between 21-24 inch barrels and 2900 is easy enough with 21-22 and if you want that magical 3k safer to start at 24 inch
