They work very well. I had chance to try one 8 years ago in Scotland.
The problem here, is that the importer limits the thread choices to 1/2"x 20 or 1/2" x28 which looks ridiculous on a 308 barrel as it removes to much meat! And they are available in many more bigger threads !S Series SL5 sound suppressor | Ase Utra

I've got one for my .223. A little on the heavy side (all steel construction) but very very quite!

Way quieter, and very compact...but about 600gr from memory - weight is the only negative with this model.

I don't like all these newer ''fater'' suppressors that are coming out, as you see far too much of them in the scope. Every suppressor has a ghost image in the lower part of the scope, but the newer short fat ones stick out like dog balls and IMO are a real distraction.

the newer generation (SL5 etc) AU cans are much lighter than the old ones

Pity there is apparently no NZ importer and no way to get them from anywhere else.

    If anyone finds a way, I'll take an SL5 BL .223 and a SL7 BL .338

Probably answered somewhere else but do you need an import permit for suppressors? Guessing so?

Did you ever try spear point technology? I just flicked them an email to see what if anything they could do.

Yes, they say they can't sell to the civilian market in NZ. I've tried everywhere that google can give me in like 7 different countries. Getting a decent QD suppressor seems impossible.

Thought you might have. Does that include the Australian civilian market as well? So hard to have some good clean fun these days. Might have to have a talk to some army buddy's, see if the NZDF might want to buy me some gifts....
