Atlas or Versa-Pod thoughts? (looking for a clawed foot bipod)

    Hi all,

I currently have a Harris S 9-13" notched, but find that when i "load" it tends to slide across the ground.

been looking at Atlas but came across someone that had a Versa-Pod and i was very impressed, seem to allow for a lot of loading and also had the option of clawed feet.
Both Atlas and Versa seem to have Pan, which i see can come in handy when it comes to positioning.

Just want to get some opinions based on experience.

    Cheers,

    Willus

+1 just tried mine out his arvo, work great. Drop fore end down and spikes set into the ground if uneven with he legs just push the longer one into the ground! Had uem lying in the 'parts' drawer for months, pissed off I didn't do this earlier

Had a versa pod and found it very heavy and clunky. Hard to beat a Harris with spikes

I keep nearly buying them and then not. Have an atlas and a Harris. Prefer the Harris but need the spikes.

I would imagine you could load up spiked feet more than claw feet. I have spikes on my harris, and they are very effective in most hunting situations.

Where'd you get yours from? How much?

Anyone have any idea where the best place is?

If you like the versapod style, just buy a Chinese knockoff, drill some holes in the flat feet and put some grub screws through it that will stick out.
Works the same as claw feet.

My Harris took a bit of 'convincing' with a hammer and punch to get the old roll pins out. Instructions said to keep them but my new ones had screws to hold them which seems to work better prob need a drop of locktite on them but forgot so guaranteed I'll lose one before I get round to doing it
