Hell no. I would shatter like crystal. Its threaded for a DPT muffler - its just quite a neat thread protector on it. The DPT tames it nicely

So, my previously stock Saiga 7,62x39mm has received some upgrades, namely:

    * Mapgul Zhukov stock - as a tall person, the extra LOP is a welcome benefit, as is the "rubber" butt plate which ensures better adherence when in the shoulder.

    * Troy handguard - 6 slot M1913 / Picatinny rail for RDS + co-witness but main advantage for me is being able to move my supporting hand further forward than the stock handguard provided.

    * Magpul pistol grip - Bit chunkier than standard and dippled - with big hands this provides a more positive grip.

    * ALG trigger - By far the best mod, thoroughly recommend anyone with a Saiga AK to undertake this upgrade. It turns a long creeping shot release and trigger reset into a nice short and crisp one. For me it turned what I'd regarded as an average rifle into an enjoyable one.

Pictured with and without Eotech 512 RDS mounted on UTG side mount.

https://www.trademe.co.nz/1346495091 Just picked this up for 5k. Thinking of putting it into an HS3 chassis. Couldn't believe what I got in this auction. Thoughts?

I am tempted to modernize mine too. The vanilla aesthetics cannot be denied but the vanilla ergos are shockingly bad.

Did you consider going with the Magpul hand guard too? Looking to get the full furniture for my 223 Saiga AK. I have also been told the hinge on the stock can be problematic have you heard this?
    Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas

I sure did however a friend had this handguard lying around so used that instead. As for the stock and fitment - pretty straight forward, I encountered no problems.

Cooper Model 21 single shot, 6x47 Remington, picked it up used for $1650 this winter, with Redding dies and 150 .222 magnum brass,
Man it can shoot, 60 hp, 65 v-max or berger target, 70 BT, 75gr serria hp, don't much matter, Varget, blc, H4198 not fussy at all.
    60 hp for a varmint load, with 24g of H4198 and a CCI br4, 200m groups 1.08- 1.38 5 groups, of 5 shots, Fantastic.
Just little 5 shot 1/2" groups at 100m, cant believe how accurate it is, could give my Sako 6ppc a run for the money, and its a 1/3 the weight.
Picked up 200 new Nosler .222 mag brass for $130, so set for now.
    Z6 2x12 scope.
