too much shit on them now, take off that illumination and just have the lockable windage and elevation turret (twin rotation) and we would have a winner in the 2-12x42 combined with the new reticle choices and the new coating.

Or those new vx3 first focal plan with those CDs double turn turrets mentioned above would be the dog bollocks. Instead they have adapted that ugly tall tower on top! They must have legalised canabis in Oregon!

For what the suggest retail is and if I were in the price range..... a s/h swaro Z5 or Nightforce/ Trijicon accupower would be better for the $. I like leupold I really do but when that sort of $ is talking you really must compare it dollar for dollar and I know the 3 brands above would win out.

Personally I think possibly NF glass is a little over rated, I was underwhelmed when I got mine. Maybe I was expecting too much??
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Yeh for that money you can get into Z5 Swarovski which is a lot better glass. However, if you need 30mm the z5 is a no go. Nightforce are practical and robust but the Leupy has better glass imo.
You can even get into some S&B and at price.

You can get a s&b for that price but it will only have 5milbof elevation once you zero it.

Nightforce glass is preddy average and they heavy and cumbersome with massive turrets sticking out
z5 have the worst eye box and only 3/4 rotation

Leapuld arnt the best at anything in particular but they are a very happy medium everything is a compromise somewhere.

I would run a sightron s3 over nightforce
