    Nikon monarch for dial-up use?

    Hi

Is anyone dialling their Nikon Monarch scope? I have a 2.5-8x32 Nikon Monarch that I'm thinking would go well on an all purpose 5 to 500m rifle...but will the scope be repeatable enough?

    Hey KJ

I have 2 monarchs, one on my 7mmRM, have shot out to 900 at NRA with it using the nikon spot-on programme for click adjustments, bang on with my handloads and returns to zero each time, can't fault them for repeatability.

I reckon they are the business!

Sweet, thanks for the reply. I didn't want to delude myself and just end up wasting ammo...but if it does work it will be an awesome little package with the short light little rifle and smaller scope.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised how good they are, they punch well above their price tag!

Personally I'd take Spuds word for it but if you doubt your scope put it on the .22lr and play with it clicking it around and so on. Cheap way to check it

I have a Monarch 4-16x42 which I haven't gotten around to do a box test on yet.
If I get a chance I'll try give it a go this weekend and let you know how it goes.

I did a test this on Sunday morning. I have taken pictures, and if I can be arsed will write up a review on the scope.

But anyway, yes the scope tracked well.
I ran the turrets through there full range of travel, up, down, left, right and repeat a good four or five times, and fired another group. Did this twice and it came back bang on.
Then fired a group, went up 5moa a group, left 5moa another group, right 10moa another group, and then back to zero.
It zeroed perfectly, and the adjustments were correct, for the 98yards I was shooting from.

I really like this scope, I should pull finger and write up a review on it, I've only had it two years.
7mmsaum, Spudattack and Toby like this.

MONARCH 3 4-16x42 Custom XR Turret from Nikon

    Natchez (US) have got them.

Be hard to go past them for value. The MOA dial would be fine.

What range will that give you with a .308, would imagine further than it is realistic to hunt with it?

half of that will get to 760 yards with a 168 amax @2750fps or if you could use all 44moa 1100y
