    Remington 700 update

    Righto folks.

So not only with the new alpha ones coming here for nice price point( roughly $2500).

    This news to boot.

Looks like the new remingtons will be top notch.

Never thought I'd say this but this news makes me want to scratch the 270 itch I've never had......

Now if only they started back up the model 7 line again

It will be interesting to see the quality of the ADL and BDL models. They will face some stiff competition from Bergara for buyers wanting a well priced well made Rem 700 footprint rifle.

    Fair point there.

Especially with the extreme hunter ( which I'd buy one of in a heartbeat if funds allowed).

A fair and very valid point at that.

just thinking of a wasted opportunity, they have the 223 and 22-250 down the bottom of the Alpha 1 calibres.
223 has a 1-8 and the 22-25- a 1-14. really? With all the really good heavier pills out there they have kept the big brother in the varmint category

    Greetings All,
Good to see the Rem 700 rifles back. By my count Remington is producing 3 bolt action CF actions so I would be surprised to see the Model 7 back any time soon, unfortunately. I am also not surprised to see the .22-250 retain its 1 in 14 twist. The 1 in 8 or 1 in 7 twist needed to stabilise todays heavy high BC .22 projectiles would likely shred some of the 55 grain projectiles at .22-250 velocities. Add to that the .22-250 case does look a bit frumpy when compared with the likes of the .22 Creedmoor. It is also interesting to see although the 7mm Rem Mag and the .243 Win have received 1 in 8 twists the .270 Win and the 7mm-08 have not. Remington have likely done their homework and are reacting to demand as they see it. People wanting fast twist rifles may want something new with it.
    Regards Grandpamac.

No shortage of adjustable after market options that exempt the big green of any liability. I wonder if Timney were the liability on the two models that use their triggers?

What are you getting for that money? I'd be expecting something quite exceptional
