    Sako 85 and Sako Ringmounts?

I have just orderd a Sako 85 Carbon, and I was having some diffeculties about the Sako Ringmounts I orded with it.

The scope is a 4x36 with 43mm occular.. and I was wondering which of these heights is the lowest I can use with it?? Extra low or low?
I dont want the bolt handle to hit the occular.

And photos of your 85, with ringmounts is appreciated.

    Hi.

Thanks.. Its the "one piece" ringmounts I am looking for. Without the bases.

They produce them in low and extra low. I would choose the extra low, if I knew if it fit the rifle with clearance of occular.

This should help..... a photo of the back of the packet. One piece ring mounts are made in one height for 1", 30mm, and 1" rim fire. If you want to dick around with xtra lows etc, then it's rings and bases.

Ringmounts only come in one height.

So the rings that attaches directly aye, without the bases.
I'd say low. Mine under a 42mm is low and it is close to the barrel. I'll send a photo through.

Ringmounts marked "low" are the only height.

Ok. So what I have is the same as yours then? Either 25mm or 30 in low as option, think they will fit.

Once more in plain English.....one piece ring mounts only come in one height.

The chart above has a guide for what objective diameters will work, but clearance can depend on the barrel profile, and the eye relief you need.
We have a Z5 5-25 x 52 in ring mounts fitted to a Sako 85, with 1mm clearance between the barrel and objective if that helps.

    Just had a measure:

Measurements are from the receiver to bottom of scope tube:

    30mm Ringmount - Optilock mount 30mm LO SS (S1703904) 10.84mm

    1” Ringmount - Optilock mount 1” LO SS (S1703900) 11.00mm

1' EXTRA LOW rings with bases 12.52mm

Check out Optics Planet they have them on special at $US109.75 and $US45.00 freight,
definitely the best ring mounts for Sako's

Curious as to why you think they're the best ring mounts for a Sako.

Ran some Leupold ring mounts on a new VX3 and was angry about the wear and marking on the scope. Run Optilocks on our Tikkas as well as the 75.
