Scope Turret Caps, what do you do?

One thing on my long range rig that is starting to annoy me is the turret caps, I find my self leaving them on while getting to a hunting site, removing them for the shot, leaving for home, getting home and wondering where I have put them.

I always put them in my top shirt pocket. just tonight have found one has gone missing when throwing empty rounds and charts back in my pack from my top shit pocket.

Hence the thread, do you even bother with caps on turrets that are constantly adjusted? I have a gunworks scope cover, that seems good enough for me from now on.

    Cheers

If the scope manufacturer assures waterproofness without the caps then they can be left off.

From memory my Kahles 3-9x42 Helia CT needs its caps on to be watertight, so they stay on !

I got home after a weekend in the bush to only realise I had lost a turret cap and barrel. Weaver replaced them free of charge.

With my next scope purchase - I'm moving towards capped turrets on a hunting rifle.

They do tend to come loose from the thread undoing rubbing on pack etc (even if done tightly) a wrap of tape around the knurled section fixes it. I'm still a fan of the pull up system. I loose enough things don't need more little pieces to keep track of
