Single Turn vs Double Turn S&B

What do members think of ST vs DT.

Looking at S&B Ultra Short: 160 cm / ST MTC LT vs 350 cm / DT MTC LT

Is the DT advantage extreme LR shooting (1500m+ say)? I wouldn't need more than 10mil I imagine and wouldn't shoot further than 1000m.

Keen to hear thoughts from others to help my understanding.

I get doubles. Over 1500m you'll be wanting more than 10 mil.

You never need it until you need it, which always sooner than you think.

Will be on 20moa base. I just can't see me doing that distance, and could use your K624i if I did!

Remember to get the most elevation out of those benders you want to have half the max elevation as "cant" in your base.

Yes read that today...but 20MOA base on the Model 7 7saum was hard enough to get.

DT all day every day. There is no real downside.

As an aside, the Ultra Short dots are sexy as all fuck!!!!

The 3-20 ultra short is not that much shorter than a regular scope but the 5-20 is pretty compact. I think they are wicked.

The 3-20 is longer - advantage easier to mount with Ill Ret option - disad is heavier. 5-20 looks fantastic and is bloody light for what you get.

The S&B agent is excellent to deal with: Klaus Pommer. Going to try ST and if no good will swap for DT. But just ran the mils adjustment (not good on milrad yet) and can't see an issue on esp on a 20moa base:

    Amount : 16.8 milli-radians (mrad of angle)
    Equals : 57.75 minutes of arc (MOA , ' / angle)

    Out to 1000 my 7mmRM, 7mmSaum, 260AI havent been over 24MOA.

Ive got a ST on my 3-12 . There are 10 mRad up elev available which is not quite enough for rhe 7mm08 at 1000m. Being a simple 500m hunting rifle the ST is perfect. no worry about wrong turn and loe profile turret.

+1 that 5-20 looks great. same size as my 3-12 and would be an ideal compromise for a long range carry hunting rifle.

If you re shooting a 7mmSAUM only to 1000m with a halfway decent base you ll be OK but if you want option to go beyoond that maybe another rifle then the classic 5-25 DT would give you "more scope".

Yes but I would just use the K624i then which is a weapon of a scope with AMR reticle.

The ST turret is the same as the DT turret. Only difference is the DT has the small yellow pop up pin.
