    takedown rifles.

    Any one got one,
would like sum thing a bit more compact and less obvious when traveling around the country, and with a two barrel system, perhaps a bit less bulk, to have in ute and boat.
    Quick assembly with no tools.
looking at mauser m03, merkel helix, sauer 202 takedown, verney carron impact bolt action.
    Have found a Verney-carron in 9.3x62 for $2400, and merkel's for $3000-3500. Cad.
I know there is plenty of blaser users, but I believe you need tools to assasamble,
Has anyone got, owned or used any of the above rifles.
    your thoughts.

Go Sauer , with steel action , even the std ones break down , so no reall need for the dearer takedown versions , most use 3 bolts that clamp the action , then the barrel slips out , bolt locks direct into the barrel .

The Blaser uses an allen key, take down & reassembly in an easy minute. Have found mine to have a very repeatable point of impact - I haven't personally handled the others you have mentioned so can't comment on those. The Blaser platform is certainly very proven & barrels easy to source etc. I love mine & wouldn't trade it for anything

This took me 26 seconds to break down with the supplied tool. Would have been faster but I was eating a bit of toast.😊

R93, thank you for that info, Looks like the Blaser is an option, I thought there was more to dissasambly on them,
Can you confirm, the screws are held in the stock, ? can't readly be lost ?
Have a few prices coming in, no such thing as cheep and takedown in the same sentence,

Action screws are retained in the stock. There is really nothing to lose unless you are careless.

No. Just run out. I have sourced some new ceramic carbon fiber composite ones. They should last at least a week.

Whatever rifle you buy get some barrel bags in bright colours if you get other calibers.
Almost left a barrel in the hills one trip.

You could consider an AI as well. Apparently you only need a fuck off big barrel vice, a fuck off big action wrench, some go, no go gauges and a coupe other items to break them down or change barrel.

Apparently they are good as a hunting or varmint platform.... Apparently.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
