    Good morning out

Size: 1,014.6 KBMy 9 year old daughter was up bright and early itching to get out for a hunt before school goes back on monday. With all the wind and rain we have had lately it was bloody nice opening the curtains to clear skys. With gear packed we set off for the hour drive to our block. We where hunting an old farm that had recently sold and hadnt had any stock on it for a few months, the new owner said deer were everywhere,so we were both pretty pumped.
We shouldered our daybags and headed off up an old track on route to a good lookout 35min walk away which overlooked a number of scrubby gullys that finger out from native, deer heaven.
We got to our spot and got the thermas out for tea and a hot chocolate for my little hunter and sat back glassing the surroundings when my daughter said 'theres two over there'! I looked to where she was looking and sure enough two fat spikers feeding at the top of a scrubby gut.
She was super stoked she'd seen them and thort we should shoot one.I wasn't about to argue with her and quickly set up the 300wsm,ranged them at 486 yards and dialed up the leupy and let one go,dropping him on the spot! After some high fives we finished our drinks and set off for the recovery, pretty happy with ourselves.
After some butchery lessons with heavy packs we headed off i wanted to go check a game camera on the way home,we had gone about 15min when i spotted some hinds and fawns up the top of a gully so sat back and took a few photos.
We trudged on, picked up the game camera and headed for the truck where we cooked up some bacon sammies before the ride home.
5 minutes into the drive home my little cobber was fast asleep,Another successful time out with my favourite person.Name: IMG_1241.jpg

Good on ya Monk. Passing the flame.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
