    2008 sheep shagger or

    Hi
    Serious Question, same money.
If those of you who know had a choice between a 2008 Toyota Hilux with a canopy and snorkel with 120ks
    and a
2013 Colorado with 45k, no canopy, silly sports bars and no snorkel, deck cover.
Both vehicles in very good nic inside and out, both have tough decks, both 4x4 , intended use Hunting and fishing , water crossings where needed, no 4x4 driving for the pleasure of it just to get where you need to be which can at time involve some rough stuff but not a lot.

What vehicle would you choose and why please.
    thanks.

Out of those 2, I'd go for the Hilux.
Mate of mine has a Colorado and it is really gutless. Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. His old 2.8 non turbo Hiace pulls the rally car heaps better than the Colorado.

You don't mention if you're paying for maintenance/repairs.

The colorados are nice but I'd struggle to not take the hilux

Does the Colorado still have warranty?

Personally I would go the holden.
Newer, will have better features than the lux being newer and depending on use it could take a couple yrs or more to do the kms the lux has.
    Resale would be worse?
Being a Hilux bloke that was hard for me😆

Thanks, have the sheep shagger , wondering if i'd gain anything by swapping for the 5yr newer Colorado.
Just after , as I've been given , honest opinions on the two trucks bearing in mind the details I put up and the 5yr difference, wondering if the Colorado may have enough features and
enough of a history as a decent vehicle now to define whether the trade would be worth it for me.
    things like longevity etc
    cheers.

Yep I'm going with the flow and the HILUX, bit up there in km's but still very good unit, you didn't mention Manual or Auto and Petrol or Diesel.
Ideal would be Manual/Diesel combo good 4 control on steep crossings in low range and the toquey Diesel makes it so much easier to climb out of sticky spots.

A change is as good as a holiday.
Especially if it doesn't cost any extra😆

Sad thing is a work mate had a non turbo 4wd hiace which we used to do tow offs against (Nissan patrols, landcurisers) and it would smoke us every time I think this is the first time I've mentioned this ever.

The 2.8 toyota hiace/hilux engine 188 optimistic newton meters of torque @ 2400rpm and below 2000 rpm nothing, I know I had one for ten years, supercharged it which made it drivable.

2008 shagger 343 nm when it new and doesnt need injectors fixing which it will.

2013 colorado 470nm and easily chipped to nearly 600nm, has enough guard clearance to fit chains too
Ride and power is miles better than a shagger, traction control/stability control is much less intrusive and more economical to boot.

If there is a downside to the Colorado it is a slower than normal steering ratio that takes a few minuets to get used to.

Cambo take the rag you stuffed in your mates intake out.
