Thread: Bedford trucks

When managing a timber mill in Carterton my TK was off the road being repaired on quite a few occasions. A customer just up the road had a J2 and he would lend it to me for deliveries on these occasions, was a bit small but certainly helped. I built a two stand shearing shed for him. Was up at his small farm, he lived there with his mum who was a 90 yrs old. She made us a cuppa and in conversation a certain farmers name came up concerning a dope growing charge he had successfully defended in court. I asked the old lady how she new the guy, she replied he was her cousin! I replied that he was also my cousin. Turned out her and I had both had the same great great grandfather, we were in the same generation with about 60 yrs between us. She gave me a photo of the great great fellow, I get misty eyed every time someone brings up the the name Bedford
