Imagine if it was a Holden! Your pushing in the clutch is freeing the xtra horses,
If it's fluctuating up and down sounds like a fuel or electronic problem? Does it stabilise or continue to rise and fall?

Could be throttle position sensor out a bit or the IAC (Idle Air Control Actuator) could be sticky . Is it noticable when driving or just when stationary?

It only does it when the clutch is pressed in . when driving its fine apart from when you need to press the clutch approaching a stop etc , then it lurches forward because of the pulsing revs (not a pleasant feeling)

Id say its the IAC , or possibly air/vacuum leak on intake manifold whatever it is i wouldn't imagine it to be a major
