North Island Forum Heli Hunt,Ecology Spur or Waipakahi Hut.

    Hi Lads and Dougie....

I have some leaving owing to me and want to see if there is any interest in a forum Heli hunt I was thinking late spring Nov/Dec. Gives a bit of planning and saving time for us all.

I was thinking either Ecology Spur or Waipakahi Hut am open to other places if someone has a good spot with good deer numbers etc.

Get in touch if your keen , I have had a look at Heli Sika and I think its about $500-$600 pp for a trip, obviously the price is more the furtehr you fly etc.

Hi Mohawk ,I was going to suggest a CNI forum hunt and or Wanganui area (Sika /Fallow). Camp at road end maybe .
A chopper ride might be out of reach of some members due to the current economic climate.
    Spring-Summer works for me.

Depending on which hut we go to I'd be keen. I can't afford a heli but I'll be on uni break by then so I'll have time so I might just walk in possibly the day before you guys arrive.

Was supposed to be dropped along the eastern side of the Umakarikari range

Anyway I could be interested in doing a fly in or walk in... don't mind will just have to confirm at a bit later date as I am going to do a South Island mission around the same time.

When is your break from your studies bro? I'm off in the first two week of September, potentially planning a week long trip in the Kaimanawas from monday-Saturday one of those two weeks if you're keen give me a PM

Mohawk660, Phillip has been to the Rushy "eats the ground" run all day training school and has an advanced diploma in five metre striding with full pack. A days walk in to a normal man is but a five minute stroll to him now. In fact I venture that he could give the chopper a ten minute head start and still be in the hut with dinner cooked before you get there.

Hi Chris I compleletly understand your staement that some members may not be able to afford it due to the economic climate , hence why I tried to give people as much notice as possible... However Im open to CNI forum hunt , thats walk in and Wanganui sounds great. Im sure there are a few tropheys from last year lying around and it would be great to make it a annual event. Do you have a specific place in mind ?
