Hunting trousers
Ok so in the market for some new hunting trousers!
Need water proof and silent (if there is such a thing)?
As well as hard wearing?
Was looking at the Swazi stuff, but open to other options.
Used to go with leggings and shorts. But really feel the cold :O_O:now so would like an extra layer.
Cheers Guys.

Ive got these ones

And they're pretty good. The bottoms open right out and you can take them off without removing your boots which I like.

KUIU Ultralight Hunting Gear & Apparel
Or the Swazi pair mentioned above, I have them and they've lasted three times a long as mates other NZ brand options.
It's a cliche, but buy once, cry once.
I'm yet to be impressed by the Chinese made Huntech stuff, see some reviews from people who wear it hard, it fails.

Thanks MSL I see your in the Waikato how quiet are they in that thick Kaimia stuff?
Cheers craigc have to agree with you that's why I thought I'd ask here first to see what the real world says
Thanks for the reply. I have one of the original NZ made Huntech hooded hunt fleece, and gaiters. Apart from the zips going on the gaiters, which I can still use with the domes they have lasted really well. Shame to hear that the new stuff is not as good.
Any other votes out there?:)

They are soft outer, so pretty quiet, not as quiet as bare legs and stubbies though

Yes Swazi Anorak.
I have now acquired some Kuiu gear and it's good, I have the Yukon jacket, Yukon pants and guide jacket. Rate it very highly as long as you know its intended use it suits my needs exactly and is a lot lighter than the Swazi gear I've used in the past. I hate the cold and can't handle it at all.
For a shit jacket from H&F you can import two items directly from Kuiu yourself. It is expensive yes but I agree with the above that for quality you have to pay once and throw all the rest away.
My next buy may well be the Alpine pants as I think the Guide may be a bit too hot to hunt in all day but would definitely like to know if anyone is using them all the time here in NZ and finds them ok.
