Introducing the kiwi equivalent of the oz pig - The Camper!

Hi Guys, I've been working a cool project out of Tauranga. Its a portable cooker - heater - wood fire which will appeal to a great many people here.
Stick it in the truck for the next roadie, camp, beach, bivvy. It's a cool piece of kit that's got a lot of uses. I I think it will appeal to every man/women who loves playing with
    and cooking over flame..

I think that it looks fantastic. I wonder if you can extend the flu and use it inside if you want to?

A 9 kg gas bottle on its side with top side milled off and a plate welded on works super well

    Super easy to make

    Google "gas bottle fireplace"

It's easy if you have a welder and know what to do... Sure there's a market for people like me that works with wood not metal

I note that the bottom image is of a factory made Frontier folding camp stove.
Do you have one and how does it go ?
There is also a Frontier Plus stove being made now that has a small glass section in the door, more adjustability and a larger diameter flue.

One of these winters Im going to disappear into the mountains somewhere remote that I can hunt and fish, where there's a good supply of dead wood on the ground and just exist for a while.

Brand new gas bottles from mitre 10 are $25 from memory and saves you dealing with old combustible gasses during fabrication.

They are super fun to make

I suppose you need an empty gasbottle to start with. I would imagine a full one might upset the engineer mans day??

Blowing shit up is fun so a full bottle is more likely to get your job done as a perk....(ps places to blow shit up without the men in black arriving are good too )
