Cheers for the heads up Sidney. I will have a look at one. Do you need the footprint like ya do for the MSR or is it better material on the montbell?
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

This is another option, slightly heavier but cheaper. One advantage is no zip in the fly. I have recently bought one but haven't even put it up yet.

Cheers. Seems odd to me why they dont strengthen the floor if ya have to/better carry a footprint around anyway.

u can use the footprint and fly independently... if you are fussy u probably don't need the footprint... but i consider the xtra wear on the thin floor something to be avoided if possible..

Good point. Is it supposed to be water proof without the foot print?

yeah 1500mm hydrastatic head which is alpine type specs... many normal weight 3 season tents have 10,000mm head cause we lie in water sometimes and rivers flow under us. The footprint increases the head on the alpine tents which typically don't get the hydrastatic pressure in the snow and tussock. pretty sure the hubbas have a similar head and benefit from the footprint as well..
