    Hi Tahr
    Happened to me on one of my tents, went to get some material and glue whatever to do the patch and when the guy asked what I was fixing he told me to go to Burnsco and get some sail repair tape. Absolutely brilliant self adhesive BUT BE WARNED make sure ya patch is in the correct place first time NO second chances if you're wrong...dunno bout the pole tho'...hope that helps..!!!
