@WillB I use a six moon designs Deschutes tarp. Cheaper and smaller and a bit lighter than the duomid. They are pretty bombproof but do have a few downsides like condensation

Basically your clothes are designed for you to retain your heat. So the clothes you are in trap what heat your body makes. Your body also warms up your clothes a bit, but those clothes act as a barrier as well, preventing it from warming up the down in your bag. However when you only wear undies your body warms up the down and makes you warmer than any clothes you may have been wearing........

    Or something like that......

Funny you should ask... Just spent my second night in it down Te Urewera... In a hut... Definitely recommend it to anyone.. Well warm enough and packs down so small.. I'm doing a bit of a mod so will post a photo when finished...

Anyone have a Revelation APEX quilt? Or a lightish weight synthetic bag?

Current bags are old down ones, good for 1-3 nights but I'm wanting to upgraded for 9 nights in fiordland,

Also I've watched a few on this guys vids re ultralight stuff

They are pretty small. Smaller than my deshutes and I defo wouldn't want to go much smaller than the dechutes. Im normal size and its reasonably tight
