    Ammo Belt

Can i scratch the collectives head on this matter please.

    Whats a good ammo belt?

I'm looking at buying an ammo belt but don't know whether to go leather or nylon.

    Pros/Cons of both?

I've had experience with both and they both seem to lose their 'grip' after time and shells can fall out.

Any brands i should lookout for/steer clear of?

Leather, I need a leather one for my 20g when I save some coin. I think soaking in water then dried with bullets in it will get it tight again. But I may be wrong @Ground Control may know he does work with leather.

    Leathers just my personal choice

After having the same issues with both that you mentioned I now use the plastic four round holders that are made for 3gun competition. They thread onto a normal belt and the rounds stay in them even in the bottom of my gear bag.

if its for duck shooting I can't say much....
If its for upland, I just got myself a shooting vest that has 10 shell holders inside the front pockets. The vest has a backpack incorporated on top of the game pouch so the rest of the ammo goes in there....

Now I don't have to carry a belt, and is much easier to walk around the cut overs I'm hunting....

Box of 28g shells fit nicely in my pocket
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

I have a neoprene one and they are great empty. Problem is when it is fully loaded the neoprene part tips forward with the weight of the shells, the belt part behind follows and pushes it even further forward. In the end if either pulls your pants down or the shells fall out forward. Sorry if that doesn't make sense but is bloody hard to describe. I saw stoney creek have just released a new leather belt. If it was my $ thats what i would buy. Shit i might even go get one tomorrow.

    Leather by far.

Get a well-made, heavy leather one (not the chamois-cloth ones Beretta sell as leather) and spend the rest of your duckshooting career trying to wreck it. Then give it to your sons when your done and they can try too

Toby is right, with a big heavy-duty leather one, when it loses is ability to grip the shells, saturate it for a good few hours in water, then hang in the sun to dry minus shells. Will shrink the leather somewhat, good for another few seasons then repeat
