Fish and Game Young Guns' Day

Harry, his father and I attended the Fish and Game Young Guns' Day held on a well respected preserve in our district. The awkward weather we have been experiencing lately was on form...skiffy to bothersome showers, then fine but remained chilly throughout. The hospitality is fantastic as it always has been (as I experienced there when a beater)...

There were nine guns and thirty eight birds were taken. Harry got the most birds, nine in all. The only girl among the guns fired the best shot of the of the day...what a great experience for them.

Witnessed some inspired picking up work by a sole Cocker...a lovely young liver dog.

Thanks for the report. Tuna Nui is a fantastic property, awesome history of the farm and the homestead and has the terrain to produce incredible birds!

The Gamekeeper is a grumpy git though :-)

No no no Scouser, don't listen to EBs she is having you on. Next time you see a brown dog pick it up and give it a lick, you'll see!

It's one of the most demanding Drives on the shoot. You would not think it possible to kill birds at 60m plus, but I've seen it plenty of times there!
