70 t0, 80 bucks maybe less given short reeds are all the rage.
Does the hammond flute much to blow?
not for a young fella I'm sure but they do require more practise imho.
tho they sound shit hot in the right hands you just cant be as fast or as flexible as a short reed with one.
you can try but will probably blow a gasket

don't be frightened to have a crack on your own tho most of my best goose days were just me and the dog/dogs
a flute will only have you blowing a blood vessels on certain calls like fast clucks.
but you can still call geese in close with them, sometimes all that's needed is a ocassional cluck or heronk to keep them coming so don't feel you cant do it with a flute.

Ive got the whole kit&caboodle including 2x electronic ones(wait for the GSPFbite).he actually has my custom short reed one from a mutual acquaintance -I can blow a basic hailbut he does miles better service to its quality. ive also got a feeding caller which if the others are hailing etc can be useful periodically for a little background sound.very important not to overdo it though. If im in any doubt illstay stuumand await thew order to fire the opening volley.
speaking of geese -have local farmer call me last night -has a mob of canadas ripping up feed paddocks and shitting in stock troughs-hi ho hi ho to bust goose ass i go!!
am i lookin forward to it-do politicians tell lies?????

Hear, hear, @gsp follower ... it is like learning to yike at spikers, roar like a stag and so on ... nothing like calling up a Callie or two with your rendition of chi cha go ...!!! I think the duck one which my friend and I used on Parries sounded artificial ...
