    Summer Season

The boy and his mates have been scouting areas for the summer season. They came across a stubble paddock and duly got me to ring up the owner. Call made, access granted. Went and set up the decoys and blinds and waited.

And waited. And I had a wee nap. Sitting in the sun with only 3 hrs sleep does that to a fella. Shower was almost required to tidy myself up when the first shots were fired. The others thought it was a hell of a joke. Karmas a bitch boys. You'll learn.

Birds started flying and the bag started growing. 13 pigeons, 6 parries and half a dozen mallards. Name: image.jpg

All in all a successful day. All breasted and in the freezer.
Going back tomorrow and have another crack.

I'm not sure. Might only be CSI. I know the Waterfowler boys have come up and are shooting the back country. It's two weekends in February. I'll try and track down the rule book.

Well that shoot wasn't as good as last night, but still managed to score 8 ducks a couple each of parrie and goose and a handful of pigeons when things were quiet

    Second Weekend
The reports are coming back to me that the boys had another good shoot last night.
83 parries,3 mallards and 2 geese. 6 sore shoulders. A number of multiple 1 shot kills, including one shot in which 3 birds fell out of the sky. I think I've lost my gun, so going to need to purchase another. It's only fair I get the new one

Majority of farms have these irrigation storage ponds, and probably 1 in 3 carry as many if not more birds on them.

Ok, mainly Falcon 35,#2. A couple of the fellas had 3' , but we were only using 2 3/4. If you're on target, they drop and if you're not they don't. Started off stacking them with a few 3 inch for the going away shots, but in the end couldn't be bothered and just ran the 2 3/4.
Earlier on when the pigeons were flying, we had a handful of lead 6's and used them up
