Three shot rule ain't so bad.....

With many regions moving towards three shot rules and the NZ Council asking for comment from all the regions on that I decided that for opening this year I'd revert to using an under and over to see whether I'd be disadvantaged. Turns out I did better with the U/O and Falcon 35gm 4s then I'd usually do with my Benelli, a mag extension and 3 inch 3s. I only went through a packet of ammo and that included providing back up a few times to the guy I shoot with and his 5 shot auto(made him ditch his extension but couldn't talk him down to three shots). He went through at least two boxes on the way to his limit.

Since then I've gone back to my Benelli(only because I don't want to get the U/O dirty lol) and have put the factory plug in it making it a three shot. Can't complain with that so far either.

I used my U/O in the morning session to reimpose a little self control on my trigger finger ,fired 3 shots .took escort s/a out in pm session -not a shot or anything remotely resembling it. I consider my shotties as working tools ,not cabinet queens so all are required to get up and loudly fart&kick if i happen to grab em.All have been blooded except my original venerable bentley pointer ,but her day will come. Must admit tho the wee boito GamekingSxS&the Baikal o/u do have a spot of magic about em.
ye mighty escort doubles as my heavy artillery battery if big gooses or god help me swans try to swallow me&me barrel-a 12g 3"no3 34gm steel load generally modifies such behaviour to my satisfaction ,albeit at times a spot messily! attempting to drinka cuppa with goosebrains ,or remains of on ones paws is not recommended-people look sideways at you and bluntly enquire as to what sort of heathen you exactly are!!

I liked shooting with a u/O. I used to shoot with my cousin who had a semi and every time birds came in he would unload his mag. I killed more birds than him with less than half the ammo, quality over quantity was my attitude

    Sent from my workbench
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

illegal, thats what automatics are, semi- autos on the other hand are perfectly fine.

I have a 2 shot semi-auto fires a single shot each time I pull the trigger, one from the top barrel and then press again for the bottom one
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.
