Is anyone from here going to this comp on Sunday 18th March(tomorow)
A group of us are heading over today to camp overnight on the beach and guna do some kontiki fishing tonight. The weather is looking bloody perfect so should get the ship a couple of kms out. South Beach Wanganui
That is some serious prise money. What does it cost to enter?
I expect a full report with photos about the kontiki, then, a report on the fishing contest:P
It costs $40 per rod and some years there are 800 - 1000 rods in the water. yea yea im not to good on the photo thing but will try lol.

We loaded up and headed to South Beach Wanganui on saturday to set up for an overnighter on the beach. We set the Kontiki out 4 times, 1 was a tangle around the reel so had to abort, 2nd must of been buggered batteries and only just made it out 350meters. 3rd and 4th went out ok and only got 1 tiny Gurnard and a crab. Surf Casting on Sunday didnt produce a fish for me, others in the group caught hearings and a tiny shark but no prize winners. I won a spot prize wow
