    Finally a fish...

    After a crap start to me year fishing with no luck, i purchased a new surfcaster and with little luck again, i posted the thread "how far can you cast".
    Lucky i did as @Shootm sent me a txt midweek, for a friday night fish.

    He pick me up and we were soon riding down the beach looking for holes and gutters.
    After a bit of a lesson on reading the sea, our lines were in the water. No more than 5 minutes later Ross had a big strike but it got off. Then he landed the first snapper of the night. Just on change of light the fishing was good, i had caught a small trevally and a kahawai but still no snapper.
    Then my rod bent over good and peeled some good line off , after a small battle i finally had my first decent snapper off the beach. Still bloody stoaked!!!

    Ended up with 6 snapper, 2 kahawai and and trevally between us.

    Was an awesome evening and a big thanks to shootm onece again for taking me out.


    Nice night in the manawatu for once.

    Just to get your feet back on the ground, it doesn't always go to plan but last night it did. I was stoked to see that snapper on the beach too. Well done mate.

    Yea man i was amazed to see like that.
    Bloody mother inlaw decided to have a birthday today so im tied up tonight. Might try tmmrw tho

    I fished the same beach this weekend . 5 hours last night and 4 hours today.
    1 small kahawai haha.



    And my new reel went for a swim...
